Spring Bank Holiday Weekend, May 2010,
Another very enjoyable weekend for members to work on their trees,
enjoy seeing the display,
learn from the demos,
and wander round the gardens at Dyffryn looking at all the magnificent trees.
Here is a Power Point Presentation taken by Carmen.
If you don't have Power Point installed on you computer, you can download a "Power Point Viewer"
Just Google "Power Point Viewer" and you will find one.
I did that and it worked fine, but be patient,
it takes quite a time to load
Here is Chris all ready to welcome visitors
A display of Shohin trees forming part of the exhibition,
and reflecting a growing interest in the UK in smaller size trees.
The Workers!
Actually a talented group of members demonstrating on their own and other people's trees
A very pretty accent plant
Flowering Trees
And finally a satisfied pigeon leaving the exhibition
Outside also there were some spectacular trees in flower this year.
The Wisteria was as good as usual
But the Davidia (Handkerchief Tree, also sometimes known as Dove Tree)
was perfect and had come out in flower at exactly the right time
And finally a wonderful specimen of Hornbeam (Carpinus Betulus Fastigiata)
